Jean-Philippe’s walk

Welcome to Le Havre where I arrived 30 years ago, following a professional transfer. As a long-distance sailor, I immediately fell in love with this city open to the sea. Step by step, I discovered that the architecture of Le Havre was a reflection of its glorious and painful past.

I love Le Havre for its history, its locals and contrasts.

I left Le Havre at 18 and came back at 40. Many stories, anecdotes and good addresses could be told as I know many of them.

Here we can walk to the world’s end, concrete is pink and the beach is part of the city, the Gardens are hanging, containers are floating in the sky and the 4 seasons meet in one day.

I love the contrast between the straight lines and austerity of Perret architecture, the immensity of the sky, and the ever changing colors of our sometimes stormy sea.

Let’s find out together what makes Le Havre so beautiful. Some nice surprises are waiting for you!

orld Heritage Site, so that reaching the sea front you will fall at your turn under the spell of Le Havre!
